Writing Consultations

I’ve been teaching creative writing since 2016, with a focus on fiction and memoir, in both group workshops and individual sessions. In that time I’ve worked with published authors, first-time writers, and everyone in between. Common among them is the need for a space to experiment, take risks, and talk through their work with other writers.

My approach is centered around making space for that exploration and conversation. No matter your experience, I’m interested in helping you deepen your relationship to your creative practice, and making room for your work to become the best version of itself. Learn more about my experience (or see below for a few testimonials from writers I’ve worked with recently).

Interested in working together? Check out the below offerings and send me a message!

  • These one-hour sessions are for writers at all levels of experience looking for new ways to approach their practice or a specific project.

Together, we can work on line-edits, new approaches to a work in progress, generative exercises, developing an accountability schedule, or anything else that might help.

Creative Consultations cost $150 and include a review of up to 5,000 words prior to the consultation to provide any necessary context for our time together. This might include a complete story, essay, or chapter, or the notes and fragments of a larger project.

For everything over 5,000 words, please see the Manuscript Review (below).

  • No matter how far along you are in your draft, it's often useful to get an outside perspective. As part of the Manuscript Review, you can submit your project (or any piece of it) and get the feedback you need to best move forward.

I’ll read for structure, pacing, point of view, and anything else you’d like insight on, and leave comments on your manuscript as I go. We’ll then discuss it all together during the one-hour conversation included in your purchase.

Manuscript Review costs $150 for the first 5,000 words, and 3¢/word for every word after that. To calculate the cost of your review, multiply your word count by .03.
